How does the donation to ski patrol work?
For every ski chair sold, we donate 10% of the proceeds to a Michigan Ski Patrol. That usually works out to be about $35-40 per chair. The same is true for any product in our inventory.

How do you decide where the donations go?
When skis are donated to us, the donor gets to decide where half of the donations goes when that chair or footstool sells. The buyer of that chair gets to decide the other half. This allows for both parties to help out their favorite ski patrol, and makes for a wonderful fundraising opportunity for the patrols.

What about other merchandise sales?
We apply the same formula (10% of proceeds) to the sale of all of our other products, and use those funds to round up donations for ski patrols we’re already supporting through our chair/footstool sales.

Do you take appointments?
Absolutely! If you’d like to see a chair in person before buying, please reach out for an appointment. We’re located in Rockford, MI (just north of Grand Rapids).

Do you offer delivery on the ski chairs?
We offer a flat rate $75 delivery fee per order across Lower Michigan for our Original Ski Bum chairs, or you can choose to pick up your chair at no charge from our shop in Rockford, MI (Greater Grand Rapids Area). If you are located in the U.P. or elsewhere in the midwest, drop us a note and we’ll do our best to work with you (additional fees may apply).

What if I want to pick up my order?
You can pick up your ski chair to save on delivery charges. Just select pick up during check out, and your order confirmation email will include instructions for scheduling your pick up time. Due to the size of the chairs, we recommend a pick up truck or trailer for pick up.

We are happy to work with you to coordinate a pick up date/time or a hold, but ask that arrangements be made within 7 days of purchase.

What’s your return policy?
The Original Ski Bum Chairs & Footstools: Orders can be cancelled or returned for a full refund minus a $25 processing fee, up until the item leaves our shop (for pick up or delivery).

Apparel Shop: At this point, we do not accept returns. However, we want you to be fully satisfied with your MI Ski Bum purchase. If you have a problem with your order, please contact us with the form below.

Do you accept ski donations?
We currently have about 400 skis ready to become chairs and footstools, while we will continue to accept some donations, we are pretty much at storage capacity.
