Custom Ski/Snowboard Chairs
Our Custom Chairs make a beautiful addition to any deck, backyard, or porch. Use your old skis/snowboards to make a family heirloom, or choose from the hundreds of vintage skis we have in our shop. If you’re looking for a specific color scheme, please contact us prior to placing your order as some colors are more popular than others with ski manufacturers.

The Choice is Yours!
Choose our Simple Ski Bum or the more curvy Original Ski Bum frame, select your ski combo, and decide on whether you’d like to add wood protection.
Both styles sport our galvanized carriage bolts to give your chair some added flair. All skis will be given a thorough cleaning and refresh to revitalize the top sheet without losing their vintage character.
We have hundreds of skis in our shop in a variety of colors. Send us a note about what color scheme you’re looking for before you place your order, and we will respond with 2-3 personalized options. Once you place your order, we will finalize the design and layout of the skis for your chair.

The Simple Ski Bum: $375.00
This streamlined frame features solid cedar wood construction with a straight back and clean 4” wide arms.

The Original Ski Bum: $475.00
Our premium signature Ski Chair is made of solid cedar wood with a curved back for added comfort and elegant, shaped arms. On this frame, curve of the backrest is adjusted by hand to match the width of the skis as they curve around the base..
Dimensions: 29” (w) x 36” (d) x 46” (h)
Seat is at a comfortable depth of 18”.
Additional Protection (Optional): $25.00
Enhance your purchase with The Real Paint Company’s Outdoor Defense, a wood oil that acts like lotion on your skin. It will bring out the beautiful rich shades of the Cedar, and provide an added layer of protection from the elements. Note: It is recommended to repeat this application on a regular basis to continue to protect your investment.

We are available to deliver within 60 miles of Rockford, Michigan for an additional $75, or you are welcome to pick up in our shop at no additional charge.

The Fine Print:
Cedar wood is naturally water and rot resistant, but will weather, gray, and age as the chair ages outdoors.
Each chair is handmade and therefore unique in every way. Variations will occur even within similar styles including variation in grain, color and naturally occurring knots or structural differences.
The beauty of our skis is in their character - they have had many years of use, and most will show some scratches, grooves or chips on the top sheet.
Design a true Original Ski Bum with your own skis or snowboards!
If you’d like to breathe new life into your old gear or create a custom family heirloom, this highly personalized option is for you. We will use three pairs of your favorite skis per chair (see below for requirements), with your choice of our Simple Ski Bum cedar frame or our Original Ski Bum cedar frame.
Our Snowboard chair is a hybrid of the two frames with a straight back (due to the nature of the Snowboard), and curved arms. If you prefer the straight arms, please contact us and we’ll be happy to accommodate.

The Original Ski Bum is our premium frame with a curved backrest and elegantly shaped arms reaching 6” wide at their front. The curve of the backrest is adjusted by hand to match the width of the skis. $525

For every build, skis and boards are given a thorough cleaning and refresh to revitalize the top sheet without losing their vintage character.
The Best part? You get to choose the Michigan Ski Patrol that will fully benefit from your purchase.
Ski/Snowboard requirements: Three pairs of skis/three boards must be in good project condition - no delamitation, or separation of layers, and at least 165cm/65” in length). MI Ski Bum reserves the right to decline gear based on usability.

The Fine Print:
Skis/Snowboards are made from a variety of materials, combined with age and unknown exposure, may react differently when cut or drilled for production. We will strive to take every precaution to produce the best quality product, but by purchasing this chair you acknowledge that a problem outside of our control could arise that may damage your skis/snowboards. In that rare occasion, we would notify you and work with you to find a suitable substitution from our inventory.

Skis/Snowboards will need to be dropped off or shipped to MI Ski Bum, located in Rockford MI.
Note: Due to their weight & size, our ski chairs are primarily available for pick up in Rockford, MI. We are able to deliver within a 60 mile radius for an additional fee.
